![]() ![]() It feels like you are connect via browser but with less features. Functionality is limited, especially if you are in a dual screen room. When a Zoom meeting is launched from the MTR, it utilizes webRTC, not as an app based experience. ![]() The Cisco Bar set up at an MTR will allow Zoom calls if the direct guest join is enabled on the Admin and Device level. I can add some insight on this as I’ve been looking at all these platforms and different manufacturers to serve as the new standard. Our current setup is running Teams Rooms on Windows via Crestron devices just for some additional context. I'd directly go with Neat devices but I have one large training room that I am not 100% sure that those devices would adequately cover, and I'd prefer not having two separate vendors to deal with if I don't have to. They state directly on their site that those devices support Direct Guest Join. Looking through some threads here someone pointed out Neat devices so I went and checked them out as well. Well since I wasn't too familiar, I went hunting and read about some of it on the Zoom website and it sort of made a little sense but I also do not have any issues with how our current rooms are handling these Zoom calls so I thought I'd make a post and see if anyone can provide some direct knowledge of if this would continue to work with any of these Cisco devices running in Teams Mode. I was like I have never heard of those and never had an issue, so I am now lost on why all of a sudden it was or would be an issue. The CRC/CVI acronyms were thrown out and I didn't quite understand. I will say when it comes to this conference room jargon, I am a bit behind the times. I can forward a Zoom meeting to any room and then go in there and hit the Join button and it works. Today we have MTR on Windows and that feature works just fine since we have the 3rd party integration enabled in Teams Admin. This is making me balk about dropping some serious cash for new devices. The users would have to connect their laptop and join or some other convoluted process. One feature that was not explained too well or was told kind of point blank was the ability to join a Zoom call directly from the room pad would not be a one button action. We visited the fancy new office in Atlanta and got to check out that awesome setup. We are looking to upgrade some old conference room equipment and the Cisco gear has piqued our interest. I have a question for anyone possibly using Cisco Room Bar/Kit/EQ/Board running as Teams Rooms Pro. Enjoy yourselves and remember, if you name a specific project you worked on, it could get traced back to you, so use common sense! Some good and some bad, try to keep it civilized.
